JERUSALEM–Lebanese militants fired rockets into northern Israel early Thursday, threatening to open a new front for the Jewish state as it pushed forward with its offensive in the Gaza Strip. Two people were lightly injured, and the rockets on Israel’s north raised the specter of renewed hostilities with Hezbollah, just 2 1/2 years after Israel battled the guerrilla group to a 34-day stalemate. Hezbollah started the 2006 war as Israel was battling Palestinian militants in Gaza. http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/563581 Lebanon’s government, wary of conflict, quickly condemned the rocket fire and said it was trying to determine who was behind the attack. Israel fired mortar shells into southern Lebanon in response. In new Gaza fighting, Israel killed five people, including four militants, raising the death toll from its 13-day offensive to nearly 700, according to Palestinian medical officials. With roughly half the dead believed to be civilians, international efforts to broker a cease-fire have been gaining steam.
LIKE THE RCMP, OR THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT, SHOULD BE INVOLVED IN A MORAL CRIMINAL CHARGE :
Leviticus 18:22 (King James Version) 22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination ;
and supported by Christ, "the union of one man and one woman, explained by Jesus ( mark 10:6-9 ) are given in marriage ( matthew 22:30 )
Yarmouth, Nova Scotia – Two gay members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were married in a ceremony on Friday. Dressed in their distinctive scarlet coats, RCMP constables Jason Tree and David Connors exchanged vows before a justice of the peace and a troop of other Mounties in their fabled red serge. Reaction to the wedding – the first between two male RCMP officers in uniform – has befuddled the couple, who have been overwhelmed by interview requests from reporters and congratulations from well-wishers they have never met. "We don’t see our wedding as anything different or special," Tree said. "Our goal was to get married, not have an international media story. "I fail to see the big deal." The 27-year-old Tree, who has been an RCMP officer for six years, said he has received about 60 letters from strangers congratulating him on the big event and praising the couple for publicly proclaiming their love – and doing so in uniform. He has heard the jokes that refer to the couple as the Brokeback Mounties, while headlines blurt out that this Mountie has gotten his man. Tree said he and Connors, 28, never intended to make a political statement. http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,,2-10-1462_1961090,00.html This is rich. Remember the story of the two gay mounties set to marry on June 30th in Nova Scotia? Well apparently Prime Minister Stephen Harper has silenced party members from talking about it. http://parkdalepictures.blogspot.com/2006/06/rcmp-gay-wedding-silenced.html

VANCOUVER–Winston Blackmore had told his many children and his many wives in the past that he could be arrested one day and charged with polygamy. But the arrival of eight RCMP officers at Blackmore’s home in the polygamous community of Bountiful, B.C., yesterday left the children crying and his wives shocked by the suddenness of the charges after almost two decades of investigations. Blackmore, 52, and James Oler, 44, leaders of rival factions in the community, have each been charged with one count of practising polygamy in a case that promises to test Canada’s polygamy law against the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
POLYGAMY
The term polygamy (a Greek word meaning "the practice of multiple marriage") is used in related ways in social anthropology, sociobiology, and sociology. Polygamy can be defined as any "form of marriage in which a person [has] more than one spouse."[1] In social anthropology, polygamy is the practice of marriage to more than one spouse simultaneously. Historically, polygamy has been practiced as polygyny (one man having more than one wife), or as polyandry (one woman having more than one husband), or, less commonly as group marriage (husbands having many wives and those wives having many husbands). (See "Forms of Polygamy" below.) In contrast, monogamy is the practice of each person having only one spouse. Like monogamy, the term is often used in a de facto sense, applying regardless of whether the relationships are recognized by the state (see marriage for a discussion on the extent to which states can and do recognize potentially and actually polygamous forms as valid). In sociobiology, polygamy is used in a broad sense to mean any form of multiple mating. In a narrower sense, used by zoologists, polygamy includes a pair bond, perhaps temporary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygamy
KING DAVID
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concubine#Concubinus
David (Hebrew: דָּוִד, Standard Dawid Tiberian dɔwið, Arabic: داوود or داود, dawud, "beloved"), was the second king of the united Kingdom of Israel according to the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. He is depicted as a righteous king — although not without fault — as well as an acclaimed warrior, musician and poet, traditionally credited with the authorship of many of the Psalms. The biblical chronology places his life c.1037 – 970 BC, his reign over Judah c.1007 – 1000 BC, and over Judah and Israel c.1000 – 970 BC.[1] There is little archaeological evidence to confirm the picture of David from the Bible, although there is reasonable evidence (the Tel Dan stele) that a king named David was regarded as the founder of the Judean royal dynasty by the 9th century BC. Nevertheless, his story has been of immense importance to later Jewish and Christian culture.
In Islam, David (circa 1043 BC – 937 BC?) is known as an appointed prophet and messenger ("Rasul") of God. It is believed David lived between 70 to 106 years.[1] [2]He was the king of Israel after Saul. The Quran mentions him having killed Goliath(Jalut).
In his old age he took the beautiful Abishag into his bed for health reasons, "but the king knew her not (intimately)" (1 Kings 1:1-4).
Chronicles lists David’s sons by various wives and concubines. In Hebron he had six sons (1 Chronicles 3:1-3): Amnon, by Ahinoam ; Daniel, by Abigail ; Absalom, by Maachah ; Adonijah, by Haggith ; Shephatiah, by Abital ; Ithream, by Eglah By Bathsheba, his sons were: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, His sons born in Jerusalem by other mothers included: bhar, Elishua, Eliphelet , Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama,
Concubinage is the state of a woman or youth in an ongoing, quasi-matrimonial relationship with a man of higher social status. Typically, the man has an official wife and, in addition, one or more concubines. Concubines have limited rights of support from the man, and their offspring are publicly acknowledged as the man’s children, albeit of lower status than children born by the official wife or wives; these legal rights distinguish a concubine from a mistress.
WHAT DID DAVID SAY TO THE JUDGES : "JUDGE WITH THE FEAR OF G’D"
Luke 18 King James Bible 1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? http://kingjbible.com/luke/18.htm
1 Chronicles 16:29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.
32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.
33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth. (he is talking about the birds in the trees singing)
34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
35 And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.
Holiness is beautiful and it is in holiness that we are to worship the Lord God Almighty. And the writer of Chronicles begins the next verse with the words, "Fear before him…." David wrote of these things in Pslam 96:
9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
The fear David speaks of here is not a fear that is meant to drive one away from God, but a fear that is meant to drive one to Him. What underlies a true fear of God is to see that He is holy. David speaks of this kind of fear here. http://www.velocity.net/~edju/HolinessArticle9.htm
